Bill TV...an explanation
It was named by my British friends five years ago when I started sending them tapes of specials on American TV. They wrote, "it's like getting another channel, it's like Bill TV!" Thus, a running gag was born. I have done some "standards conversions" locally, but mostly the only productions are the yearly "Bill TV-Christmas Tape." Then more and more folks started getting them. I no longer have time to do it, but here you'll see some fun memories from the past. I'm not a professional, just someone that wants to share a laugh and a little joy.

Bill TV Conversion Services
Many do not know that in real life, the "fun" part of Bill TV actually performs a service. It's called "standards conversions" and it has to do with your televisions scan lines. Here in the United States we use NTSC and in England it's called PAL. For video tape machines one type will not work on another. The tape has to be copied (or converted) to the correct standard.

Bill TV had one of the few facilities south of Atlanta that could make the transfer from one to another in either direction. Now most UK machines will play both. Many DVD players in Europe are multi standard. It all began when a company out of Ohio charged $25 each tape to convert. I bought the Panasonic AG-W1 and it has paid for itself time and again.
